In 3 ABY, the Exterminator was a Star Destroyer being manufactured for the Imperial Navy by Kuat Drive Yards. As the Exterminator's construction neared its finish, the amateur slicer Shannon Voorson managed to slice into an Imperial computer file listing a number of Star Destroyers being built at Kuat, including Exterminator. Shannon later showed the Star Destroyer list to her cousin and Rebel Alliance member, Deen Voorson.

It was constructed at the Kuat Drive Yards shipyards on Kuat in 3 ABY. Shannon Voorson was able to slice its name along with several other Star Destroyer names and gave it to her cousin, Deen Voorson, a member of the Rebel Alliance.
