Eyeball was a nickname used among Rebel Alliance/New Republic pilots for the Imperial TIE/LN starfighter or the TIE/D Defender. It referred to the fighter's prominently spherical cockpit, which resembled an eye.

The term was still in use by the time of the Second Imperial Civil War (137 ABY). Cade Skywalker as well as Rogue Squadron pilots also referred to Predator-class fighters, the successor to the TIE-series, as eyeballs.
