"Who needs a blaster when you've got an F-187 cutting tool?"
Clone Sergeant Gaffa[5]

The F-187 fusioncutter was a handheld cutting tool produced by SoroSuub during the Clone Wars. The F-187 fusioncutter model was popular among engineers during the time of the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire.

Description[]

The SoroSuub Corporation F-187 fusioncutter employed a high-energy plasma beam to cut through almost any reinforced material. The beam could be adjusted from a millimeter across to a laser six centimeters wide. The beam could reach a length of twenty centimeters.[6] The internal power cell supplied an hour's worth of continuous operation.[3] The fusioncutter could slice into a vehicle and gain control of it from its pilot.[7]

History[]

Such was the versatility and popularity of the F-187, it was used by a variety of factions during the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War, from clone engineers to Rebel pilots.[7]

Behind the scenes[]

The F-187 serves as a tool in the Battlefront video game series. It has also appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars tie-in comic Repel All Boarders!
