"The name's Faeto. But a scrub like you oughta call me Bosshand Faeto or bad tings might happen to yas."
―Bosshand Faeto, to a bounty hunter[1]

Bosshand Faeto was a male Bith criminal who lived on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Look, me boys and I are tryin' to make our own gang. You know. Away from the prying eyes of Jabba. One day, me boys and I will rule Tatooine. Mark my words. If we're donna be rulin' the place, we gotta tie loose ends."
―Bosshand Faeto, to a bounty hunter[1]

By the time following the Battle of Yavin, Bosshand Faeto was a minor criminal leader in Mos Eisley. He ruled his gang and expanded his activities with the ambition to rule Tatooine one day. In the meanwhile, he was smart enough to avoid conflict with Jabba the Hutt. Faeto usually spent a lot of time in Lady Valarian's Lucky Despot cantina.[1]

In 1 ABY,[2] an individual known as Untas owned Faeto money. Although the amount was ridiculously low, 100 credits, Faeto hired a bounty hunter to kill Untas in order to preserve his reputation. The bounty hunter Boba Fett heard about the death mark and advised an acquainted bounty hunter to accept the mission. Bosshand Faeto met the bounty hunter in the Lucky Despot and they agreed with the terms of the contract. Faeto recommended the bounty hunter to first ask a woman known as Taibela about Untas. After Taibela, the bounty hunter met her fiancé Oldksam, and later Untas' partner Sleash. The drug addict Sleash agreed with giving Untas' location, in the White Thranta Shipping offices, and the bounty hunter eventually killed Untas.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Faeto was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts.[1] The game was shut down on December 15, 2011.[3] Faeto was added to the game as part of the "Legacy Quest" with the release of the "Publish 25", a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[4]

  2. According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
