The Far Ranger was a heavily modified Corellian Engineering Corporation Action VI transport originally owned by Captain Drach Coven. It was later handed over to former-Major Nick Rostu. Rostu had found an enigmatic power hilt in one of the weapons cache aboard the Ranger. Rostu, despite his curiosity, didn't activate it with suspicions of it being a lightsaber. During the fight in Yaam sector with Prince Xizor, the hilt was given to Jax Pavan. The hilt was then discovered to be a light whip.
