The Farlax sector was in the Core Worlds near the border of the Deep Core.

Despite its relative proximity to Coruscant, the Farlax sector was mostly unexplored by New Republic surveyors after the departure of the Imperial presence following the Battle of Endor.

The sector contained the Koornacht Cluster. In total, the sector numbered more than 2,000 inhabited worlds, 300 of which were members of the New Republic prior to the Black Fleet Crisis.

Farlax sector also contained the Morath Nebula and the Norat Sovereignty.
