The fedora was a type of hat in the galaxy. Though fedoras were typically colored brown, they could come in a wide variety of hues.

They were considered archaeologically significant, and at least one spacer was known to have worn this type of hat during 1 ABY.

Behind the scenesEdit

The in-universe version of this fedora is obviously alluding to the real-world fedora worn by Indiana Jones. Whenever Indiana Jones makes an appearance in Star Wars related material, he is usually seen wearing this type of fedora. However, the hat was not yet identified as a fedora and technically made into canon until its debut in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies.

In the game, the developers temporarily reactivated the accounts of many players who unsubscribed from the game between January 1st 2008 to September 15th 2010. To encourage these players to log on, the developers offered all active players a free fedora and whip. These items would only be given to players who logged on anywhere from November 23rd to November 30th. On the 30th, the developers gave players the option to turn the decorative version of the fedora into an actual wearable version, which could be colored up to two times.
