Feris was a celestial body[4] located in the Feris system, a part of the Agarix sector[1] in the Western Reaches portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] It featured polar ice caps and was home to a civilization millennia prior to[4] 3637 BBY. By approximately that year,[7] the melting of the ice caps had revealed preserved remnants of the civilization.[4]
Around that time,[4] the future commander of the Eternal Alliance[8] sent a companion to investigate the ruins in order to find any valuable relics.[4]
By the time of the Galactic Civil War,[5] Feris was the site of[6] the settlement known as Feris City.[5]
Behind the scenes[]
Feris was introduced in Shadow of Revan,[4] a 2014 expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 video game developed by BioWare.[9] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Feris system, and therefore the celestial body, in grid square K-17.[3]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Feris City in relation to the Feris system and specifically Feris.

The Crew Skill mission "A Past Unthawed" is part of the Shadow of Revan expansion and therefore also takes place around that year.
