Ferrocarbon was an incredibly strong, corrosion-resistant building material made from the combination of iron and carbon. It saw widespread usage on Coruscant, where it was used to form the structural foundation of skyscrapers.

Ferrocarbon is a real-world alloy composed of ~90% iron and ~10% carbon. The Latin word for "iron" was ferrum.
