The Fifth Battle of Coruscant was the New Republic's retaking of Coruscant from the Galactic Empire, shortly after the final death of the clone Emperor Palpatine, in 11 ABY. It was the final time a major battle would take place in the Coruscant system during the Galactic Civil War.

Behind the scenesEdit

According to The New Essential Chronology, the Empire withdrew from Coruscant without orders, and apparently without a fight. However, the novel Jedi Search indicates that the New Republic did have to fight to take back the galactic capital.
