- "The Facinorous, Moliminous, Nefandous, Numamorous Adler Roty"
- ―A section of Roty's advertisement
Adler Roty was a professional magician who claimed to be one of the Sorcerers of Tund,[1][2] an ancient sect of Sith mages.[3] In 23 BBY, on the planet of Coruscant, Roty's homeworld, the magician started a new show at the CoCo District Theatre , shortly before the onset of the Clone Wars.[1] Roty advertised it in HoloNet News into 22 BBY, using a trademarked tag-line, "It's not the Force! It's magic!," and claiming to be an influential, unspeakably wicked person who loved credits.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Adler Roty's advertisement appeared in Holonet News, an in-universe website created in 2002 to publicize the then-upcoming Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones film.[2] Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens wrote the site content.[4]
The word numamorous that appears in the spot is a misspelling of the word nummamorous, meaning a person who loves money.[5]
