Artar Mothma was a member of the Mothma family from Chandrila. By the year 0 ABY, a few months after the Battle of Yavin, Artar Mothma was dead and buried on the family's grounds in the Chandrilan prairies. When Ensign Nanda of the Galactic Empire was sent to Chandrila to investigate the childhood home of the Imperial traitor Kell Bircher, she discovered the tombstones of Artar and other members of the Mothma family. That discovery led Nanda and her superior Darth Vader to understand that Bircher was in fact related to Mon Mothma, leader of the Rebel Alliance.[1]
