Captivator was a bounty hunter assassin droid tasked with tracking down Han Solo and Chewbacca. Captivator was hired by Jabba the Hutt to hunt down Solo. He worked with a human, a Gran, and a Kubaz bounty hunter. Later he joined with Alecia Beck and the Imperials to find Solo.[1]

Captivator first appeared in Greg Rucka's junior novel Smuggler's Run: A Han Solo & Chewbacca Adventure, which was released as part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens book series.[1] In early pieces of concept art drawn by Dave Seeley, Captivator is shown to be wielding a Clone Wars-era Z-6 rotary blaster cannon and an Imperial E-11 medium blaster rifle.
