Celwis was a planet of the Chiss Ascendancy in the Celwis system of the Unknown Regions. It was located on the Vagaari Corridor, a hyperlane that ran through the Unknown Regions. Celwis was once regularly attacked by alien aggressors, but it eventually became a demonstration of Chiss military strength shortly after the formation of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force.[1]

Celwis was first mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square F-8.[1]
