The DT-29 heavy blaster pistol was a heavy blaster pistol that saw use during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[3]
Characteristics[]
The DT-29 was a deadly heavy blaster, delivering a brutal force per shot that all but guaranteed a kill in close quarters, while remaining exceedingly dangerous at range.[3] Extremely customizable, DT-29's could be custom-fitted to an owner's specifications.[2]
During the Galactic Civil War, some DT-29's found their way onto battlefields as service pistols; these blasters were fitted with energy packs that greatly enhanced stopping power and rate of fire, but required the pack to be ejected and manually reloaded after just six shots. The DT-29 feeds from a 6-shot cylinder power cell and actually has to be reloaded rather than be cooled down. Its unique crosshair seems to indicate that the cylinder behaves similar to that of a revolver, rotating between shots.[4]
Director Orson Krennic notably used a non-regulation DT-29 custom-fitted with a macroscope, though rarely used the weapon.[3]
