The Brighthome was a space station used by the Jedi Order as an outpost in the galaxy's Mid Rim. Sometime after the rise of the Galactic Empire, a group of stormtroopers were tasked with clearing out Jedi artifacts from the station.

Characteristics[]

Brighthome was a space station which consisted of several towers and was outfitted with at least two hangar bays which stuck out from the main structure like wings. The core the facility consisted of a central, square tower with a sweeping stairway leading up to an open entrance. At least four shorter towers were clustered around the central tower, each with a stepped roof. Brighthome was adorned by four large statues of humanoid Jedi wielding lightsabers; a single statue stood above each hangar bay, and two stood back to back on the peak of the station's central tower. On the underside of the the station, a long, narrow spire protruded downward.[1]

Role[]

The Brighthome served as a Jedi outpost in the Mid Rim, and contained a databank of information relating to the Jedi Order.[1]

History[]

Vaderattackstance-DV2

Vader claimed a lightsaber from the station wall and used it to cut through the clone garrison.

Originally serving the Jedi Order as a Mid Rim outpost, the Galactic Empire took control of the Brighthome shortly after Order 66 and the establishment of the Empire. The Empire deployed[1] a garrison[2] of formerly-Republic clone troopers, who now served as Imperial stormtroopers, to archive the artifacts within the station, along with a group of four ARC-170 starfighters as security. The Sith apprentice to Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, traveled to the Brighthome to begin his quest of finding a living Jedi, from whom he could capture a kyber crystal.[1]

As Vader approached the station, he declined to communicate the docking codes and instead chose to fight his own men, eliminating the enemy starfighters with ease before landing and tearing a path through the clone stormtroopers onboard. He then reached the control center, where, with the help of his unwanted droid assistant, located the Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a, who had taken the Barash Vow and thus had survived the activation of Protocol 66.[1] Vader left the station a lifeless ruin.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The Brighthome first appeared in the canon 2017 comic, Darth Vader (2017) 2, written by Charles Soule and penciled by Giuseppe Camuncoli.[1]
