"These guys get points for courage, but we're a little outnumbered. There's more than a few trigger-happy thugs in that docking bay."
―Kira Carsen[1]

Docking Bay 84 was a docking area in the Coruscant Spaceport, located near the Senate Plaza on the Galactic Republic's capital planet of Coruscant.[1] In 3643 BBY,[2] during the Cold War with the reconstituted Sith Empire, a team of kidnappers from the Black Sun criminal syndicate attempted to escape to the spaceport as a diversion after they succeeded in kidnapping the Republic scientist Eli Tarnis from the Senate Tower. They were pursued by the Padawan Kira Carsen and a team Coruscant Security Force agents, and the two sides were locked in a stalemate in the hangar until a Jedi Knight—the former apprentice of Jedi Master Orgus Din—arrived. Working with Carsen and the CSF agents, the Knight broke through the criminals' lines and defeated their leader—a man named Zeer, who revealed that they were a decoy, and that Tarnis was really in Black Sun territory.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Docking Bay 84 appears in the BioWare MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, as a class-restricted map for the Jedi Knight mission "Kidnapped!" on Coruscant.[1]

  2. SWTOR mini STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Old Republic—The Lost Suns 2 takes place ten years after the treaty, one week after the mission to Nar Shaddaa, and around the time of the SpecForce Incident. Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY.
