The Silken Asteroids was a field of asteroids in a system governed by Moff Derliff. There was a battle there during the early days of the Rebellion.

The Silken Asteroids was a field of asteroids in a system governed by the Galactic Empire's Moff Derliff[2] in the galactic region of Wild Space at coordinates O-20.[1] The area containing the Silken Asteroids was governed by Moff Derliff during the first years of the Galactic Civil War. The asteroids were rocky and were without water. Mynocks were found in the field.[2]
History[]
Rebel General Jan Dodonna established a minor base on an asteroid with a thin atmosphere around[2] 2 BBY,[3] but it was discovered by Imperial-class Star Destroyers belonging to Moff Derliff. The Rebel base's Z-95 Headhunters held off Derliff's initial attack and Dodonna rallied the base's forces to attack Derliff's base and drove away the Imperials.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Silken Asteroids was first mentioned in the strategy guide to the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. It was the Princess Leia campaign's challenge mission. The mission and thus the asteroid field was also included in the game's 2002 expansion pack, Clone Campaigns.
