"You will be reporting to the capitol to work for Gallura Handerin. She's a fairly high level government aide. She'll have some work for you."
Lieutenant Jasper, to a spacer[1]

Gallura Handerin was a Human female who lived on the planet Corellia during the Galactic Civil War. She was high-ranking employee of the Corellian government.

Biography[]

"Go see my cousin in the capitol building. Gallura can put you to good use. I'll send word to her to expect you as well as a glowing recommendation."
Pol Handerin, to a spacer[2]

By the time following the Battle of Yavin, Gallura Handerin worked in the Capitol building of Coronet City as a high level government aide.[1] She had a cousin who lived on the outskirts of Coronet, the farmer Pol Handerin.[2]

In 1 ABY,[3] Gallura Handerin recruited a spacer who previously worked with Pol Handerin to fulfill several missions. She first requested the spacer to check all the government drop boxes in Coronet City. She then asked the spacer to recover a stormtrooper armor stolen from an Imperial officer in the Capitol. She was very satisfied when the spacer brought back the armor even before the officer could notice the robbery. Eventually, Handerin tasked the spacer to find a missing government courier. However, the courier was assassinated by the criminal Preens B'oola in order to steal the government documents that the courier was carrying. B'oola asked for a huge ransom of 1,000,000 credits but the spacer killed him and recovered the documents. For all those services, Gallura Handerin then recommended the spacer to Brantlee Spondoon, the aide to the Diktat.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Gallura Handerin was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]

Gallura Handerin was added to the game with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[5] She was part of the questline that featured the Rogue CorSec plot against the Diktat.[1] This story arc was later slightly revamped with the release of the "Publish 27", on February 15, 2006,[6] as the questline was integrated into the "Legacy Quest," the main questline in the game.[1]

  3. According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
