- "Come on Grizzer, there's nothing here"
- ―Hound
Grizzer was a massiff stationed on the planet Coruscant during the Clone Wars alongside its owner, clone trooper sergeant Hound. The two were among other Republic forces searching for suspected criminal Ahsoka Tano when she escaped from the Republic military base.
Biography[]
Grizzer was a massiff living on the[1] planet[2] Coruscant during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists.[1] In 20 BBY,[3] Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano was attempting to escape from the Republic military base after she was framed for the murder of Letta Turmond. Grizzer's owner, ARF trooper Hound, took Grizzer outside the Republic military base's plaza containing the First Battle Memorial to search the area and track down Tano.[1]
Grizzer picked up Tano's scent while she was hiding behind a statue of a clone trooper and, sensing her presence, lunged towards her hiding spot. Hound, seeing nothing where Tano had been as she had climbed the statue to evade the two, pulled on Grizzer's leash, calling on the massiff to continue its search. Tano was then spotted by other clones, who gave chase. Grizzer and Hound were among other members of the Grand Army of the Republic who pursued Tano before she escaped the compound via a pipe system.[1]
Personality and traits[]
The massiff had black eyes, and its body was charcoal gray, with a yellow pattern on their back.[1]
Skills and abilities[]
Grizzer had a keen sense of smell, sensing Ahsoka's presence from her hiding spot behind the statue base, but could not locate her when she moved to squat on top of the statue.[1]
Equipment[]
Hound held a leash attached to a brown crossbody harness that was fitted to the massiff.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Grizzer appeared in "The Jedi Who Knew Too Much," the eighteenth episode in the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series.[4] The episode aired on February 16, 2013.[5]
