HC-556 Light Cruiser were light cruisers used at the time of the Galactic Civil War.
Description[]
The HC-556 Light Cruiser had a small upright hull with two pairs of wings stretching to the sides from the top and bottom part of the ship. These cruisers were armed with two forward facing laser cannons below the lower wings and a third, rearward facing laser cannon right above the lower wings. The bridge and engine section were situated in the upper part of the ship, right below the top pair of wings.[1]
History[]
Mercenaries used these ships in the Kashyyyk system as escort craft for their HC-A1A Medium Cruiser. Oftentimes two HC-556 Light Cruiser escorted one HC-A1A Medium Cruiser through the dangerous star system.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
HC-556 Light Cruisers were starships in Rage of the Wookiees, the second expansion to Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. They were called "Mercenary Cruisers" and could be found in the Kashyyyk system where several HC-A1A Medium Cruiser, always escorted by two Light Cruisers fly on a set flight path through the system.[4]
