Jogan fruit was a round, edible fruit with purple skin featuring wavy white stripes and orange inner juices. They were topped with small wine-red leaves; round green leaves were sometimes present on the sides of the fruit. It was an ingredient in jogan fruitcake. The fruit is widespread through the galaxy from Coruscant to Felucia. It was also found in the swamps of Rodia.
History[]
During a banquet hosted by Senator Padmé Amidala honoring Senator Aang jogan fruitcake was served for dessert. Since the dish was a favorite of Senator Aang's it was vital to have it properly prepared. The astromech droid R2-D2 had failed to acquire the fruit prior to the event, so the protocol droid C-3PO accompanied him to ensure the last-minute purchase was successful. They returned just in time with four jogan fruit for the cake.
Vendors like Droogan sold the fruit on Coruscant in open market stands. Though the fruit was displayed for view it was purchased in containers.
Culinary Use[]
