"My son Jowres and daughter Mia were attacked by those beasts outside. Both of them are sick and need medical attention!"
Larence Zaprin, to a medic[1]

Jowres Zaprin was a male Human who lived on Naboo with his family at the time of the Galactic Civil War. His sister Mia called him Jowy.

Biography[]

"There's a serious medical situation on Naboo. A family that is living in the relative wilderness of Naboo has been attacked by a number of feral creatures. Several of the family members need tending."

After the Battle of Yavin, Jowres Zaprin lived at the remote Zaprin Estate in the Gallo Mountains on Naboo with his father Larence, his mother and his sister Mia.[1]

In 1 ABY,[2] a group of sick narglatches and motts surrounded the Zaprin's home. Jowres and his sister Mia went outside to check the situation but were attacked by the crazed animals. Both were wounded by the animals and developed a severe infection. His worried father sent an urgent call for help and soon a medic sent by the 2-1B droid Billingsly arrived at the Zaprin Estate. The medic first tried to help Mia, but the treatment didn't work. So the medic single-handedly killed several of the feral creatures that surrounded the house. From blood samples extracted from the creatures' bodies, the medic was able to create an anti-toxin. After an injection with the new medicine, Jowres and Mia recovered from the infection within a week.[1]

Jowres Zaprin was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Jowres Zaprin was added to the game upon the release of the "Publish 25", a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[4]

Jowres Zaprin could be found in a remote building in the Nabooian Gallo Mountains south-east of the Lake Retreat. He was part of the quest "House Call" for players of the Medic profession. During each server reset, Jowres Zaprin's appearance was randomized, but he consistently appeared as a male Human.[1]

  2. According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
