Kayla Perlis was a female Zabrak Smuggler who served as a loyal companion to Zale Barrows and the Free Spacers Fleet during the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire.
She was with Zale on the planet Belsavis when the Empire opened the cells of the prisoners. Kayla wanted to leave, but Zale insisted that they stay to help evacuations and assist the Republic.
Kayla was left alone at Barrows' hangar when he went to try and stop the Empire from breaking prisoners out of the Tomb.
