Alleged "ILM concept composite of Enterprise meeting Luke's X-wing" from April Fools' Day

  • The Enterprise is the same as MemoryAlpha:File:Ma_icon_alt.png of which I found a larger version here but the author comments seem to indicate even he doesn't know where it comes from.
  • The X-wing is from the approach to the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, with the red wing stripes removed and the R2's hue adjusted because it's actually Red Two, Wedge Antilles. I don't know why I bothered considering how much I shrunk him, but there you go.
  • The starfield is from the same scene in Episode IV, but I layered it over itself a few times and sharpened it.
  • The lens flare that J.J. Abrams "insisted" that ILM add to the concept shot is from Kai's Power Tools. It's on a separate layer, blurred a little.
  • Then the whole thing went through a bit of post-processing to make it look more "filmy."
  • Even then, the shadows are way the heck wrong, which is kind of a dead giveaway. :-P
