"My son Jowres and daughter Mia were attacked by those beasts outside. Both of them are sick and need medical attention!"
Larence Zaprin, to a medic[1]

Mia Zaprin was a female Human who lived on Naboo with her family at the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Heard howling. Jowy and I went outside to check. Terrible pain. Screaming. Mine? No...no no! No more!"
―Mia Zaprin, to a medic[1]

The Zaprin Estate on Naboo.

After the Battle of Yavin, Mia Zaprin lived at the remote Zaprin Estate in the Gallo Mountains on Naboo with her father Larence, her mother and her brother Jowres.[1]

In 1 ABY,[2] a group of sick narglatchs and motts surrounded the Zaprin's home. Mia and her brother Jowres went outside to check the situation but were attacked by the crazed animals. Mia was bitten in the leg and developed a severe infection that caused her to fall into a delirium. Her worried father sent an urgent call for help and soon a medic sent by the 2-1B droid Billingsly arrived at the Zaprin Estate. He examined Mia and tried to cure her illness, but the infection didn't respond to the treatment. So the medic single-handedly killed several of the feral creatures that surrounded the house. From blood samples extracted from the creatures' bodies, the medic was able to create an anti-toxin. After an injection with the new medicine, Mia quickly recovered from her illness.[1]

Mia Zaprin was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Mia Zaprin was added to the game upon the release of the "Publish 25", a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[4]

Mia Zaprin could be found in a remote building in the Gallo Mountains southeast of the Lake Retreat. She was part of the quest "House Call" for players of the Medic profession. During each server reset, Mia Zaprin's appearance was randomized, but she consistently appeared as a female Human.[1]

  2. According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
