"My functions are diplomacy, translation, manslaughter and calumniation."
―NR-02, aboard the Black Talon — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

NR-02 was an advanced protocol droid owned by Grand Moff Rycus Kilran. In addition to his standard translation and protocol capabilities, he claimed "manslaughter" and "calumniation" among his functions. The droid acted as Kilran's representative aboard the Black Talon, an Imperial transport ship.[1] Following Kilran's demise at the battle at the Maelstrom Prison, ownership of NR-02 was transferred to Darth Xarion, a Dark Council member within the reconstituted Sith Empire.

Behind the scenes[]

"Consider this my resignation."
―The player, before destroying NR-02 after resigning from the Empire[2]

NR-02 is an NPC character from the Star Wars: The Old Republic video game and is featured in the Imperial flashpoint The Black Talon.[1]

In the Jedi Under Siege storyline of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne, NR-02 is featured as the Imperial contact the player meets in the Slippery Slopes Cantina on Nar Shaddaa, should the player choose to side with the Empire. If Imperial players had completed The Black Talon, this will affect dialogue with NR-02.

In the main storyline of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Onslaught, NR-02 contacts the player should they be an Imperial character just as they're about to enter the Dark Council chamber aboard Vaiken Spacedock. He informs the player about rumors of their reward for serving the Empire. If a Republic Player is saboteur for the Empire and successfully destroys the Meridian Complex, NR-02 meets them back in the Slippery Slopes Cantina, where they speak with him and his master, revealed to be Darth Xarion. If the player does not destroy the Meridian Complex, NR-02 will chide the player for being ineffective. At that point, the player has the option to resign the role of saboteur and return to the Republic permanently. The player will also have the option of destroying NR-02 during this resignation.[2]
