Culroon III was a planet in the Culroon system, located in Wild Space.

Description[]

Culroon III was a planet[2] in the Culroon system in Wild Space[1] It contained a jungle.[3]

History[]

Due to Culroon III long history of extreme violence and constant civil war, it largely ignored by the Galactic Republic. Due to their constant warring, the Culroon natives never developed space travel, but would trade for technological devices.

As the Galactic Empire expanded, it decided to construct a garrison on Culroon III, where General Irrv agreed to stage a ceremonial surrender of the Culroon species by their leader, Kloff. When it turned out to be an insurrection by the Culroon, the Imperial staff was rescued by an AT-AT commanded by Lieutenant Maximilian Veers.

Inhabitants[]

Culroon III was inhabited by the native Culroon,[2] a tribal warlike species[3] whose violence prevented them from developing space travel.[2]

Locations[]

An Imperial garrison was established on Culroon III by the Galactic Empire.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Culroon III first appeared in the short story "The Promotion of Lieutenant Veers," published in 1987 in West End Games's The Star Wars Sourcebook written by Bill Slavicsek and Curtis Smith.[2] The planet was first visually depicted in the 1998 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rebellion. The game places Culroon III in the Kanchen sector in the Outer Rim,[4] however, other sources place the Kanchen Sector in the Core Worlds. Star Wars: Rebellion: Prima's Official Strategy Guide misspells the planet as "Culoon III."[5] The stat card for Maximilian Veers in the Star Wars Miniatures game (Dark Times: 22/40) misspells the planet "Culrron III".
