"The Itani Nebula used to be the haven for a small band of pirates. They'd hide their strike ships just within the nebula, masking their profiles and locations from ships en route to Darknon Station. These swift ships could easily jump out at any prey veering near the nebula, and would quickly disable, board and loot such target ships."

The Itani Nebula was a vast nebula in the Inner Rim that was made up of reddish-green gas clouds, small infant stars, and flashing ion and magnetic storms.

History

The Itani Nebula was hazardous to navigate.

The Itani Nebula was one of the many hazards along the route which Freia Kallea charted for the future Hydian Way. She blazed a line across the nebula in 3703 and 3702 BBY which was integrated into the first Hydian Way. A new line was later discovered and Kallea's first segment became the Itani Run.

Darknon Station was located along the Itani Run, which skirted the edge of the nebula. A secret Imperial research station was hidden inside the Itani Nebula.

In 1 BBY, a portion of the Rebel Fleet, commanded by the Salvation, was ambushed by an Imperial unit commanded by the bounty hunter Boba Fett who flew as Shadow Leader.

During the Galactic Civil War, the Itani Nebula was home to a band of pirates led by Larken. The pirates mysteriously disappeared when they took on a target too big for their own guns.

Behind the scenes

The comic adaption of the 2010 video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II mistakenly places the Itani Nebula in the Outer Rim Territories.
