Saw's shuttle was owned by the Onderonian freedom fighter Saw Gerrera, the leader of the Partisans, during the the Imperial Era. Gerrera's shuttle saw action during the Campaign at Salient, where Gerrera fought against the Galactic Empire's Naval forces.[2]
In 13 BBY, Gerrera adopted the young girl Jyn Erso after her mother, Lyra Erso, was killed and her father, the scientist Galen Erso, was captured.[3] Gerrera piloted the shuttle to the Erso family's homestead-farm on the planet Lah'mu in the Raioballo sector where he rescued the young Jyn and made her a member of his crew.[1]
