The shaclaws were massive, armored insects native to Voss that possessed powerful foreclaws. Shaclaws use these foreclaws to burrow into the earth to find roots and small mammals to feed upon. They were considered a delicacy by the Gormak, but would secrete deadly toxins after they died. As a result, they had to be specially cooked alive.
