Shaft 16 was a mining shaft on the Eastern Ice Shelf of Ilum, established by the miners of the Minos-Mestra Corporation around 3631 BBY. After the miners accidentally desecrated the burial site of Xivhkalrainik's father, his son, Sith Lord Xalek, attacked their mining camps, slaughtering everyone and leaving no survivors. Shaft 16 was one of his targets, where everyone present at the time of the attack perished.[1]
