The Starship Wastes was the name given to the region west of the Watchtower on the moon Oricon. The name came from the large number of starfighters and other starships that crashed in the area during the opening hours of the Dread War, and though the Dread Host took control of the area early on, the Galactic Republic's Strike Team Oricon and the Sith Empire's Dread Executioners established separate bases on the western edge, and rescued many of the survivors.[1]

The Starship Wastes was first added to the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic as part of Game Update 2.4: The Dread War. It is the site of two faction-specific yet identical missions—"Gathering Forces" for Imperial players and "Spark of Hope" for Republic players—and the repeatable Daily version of that mission, "Fallen Forces."[1]
