"Our ex-friend Cie Vos has decided to liberate a case of rations from our stock. Punish him and bring the rations to me."
Kavas Urdano, to a spacer[2]

Cie Vos was male Zabrak criminal who lived on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Valarian sells POISON to her patrons! I stole this to prove it to the authorities! Please don't shoot me!"
―Cie Vos, to a spacer[2]

Sometime following the Battle of Yavin, Cie Vos worked for Lady Valarian's criminal syndicate on the planet Tatooine.[2]

ToxicRations

The toxic rations stolen by Cie Vos

In 1 ABY,[1] Vos discovered that Lady Valarian was for some reason poisoning some of the patrons of the Lucky Despot. The man therefore stole a box of toxic rations to prove his point. Declared an enemy of the syndicate, Valarian's lieutenant Kavas Urdano tasked a spacer with killing Vos and retrieving the stolen rations. When the spacer approached Vos, outside the city of Mos Eisley. he insisted that the rations were poisonous, and that he wanted to bring the rations as proof to the authorities. Although he begged not to be killed, the spacer did so anyway, along with two fellow thugs who were defending him. The spacer returned the toxic rations to Urdano, who awarded the spacer with 2,000 credits.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

CieVosFemale

Human female depiction of Cie Vos, deemed non-canon in Legends continuity

Cie Vos was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Cie Vos was present in the original release of the game, being part of Lady Valarian's Quest Series.[2]

Because Cie Vos spawned under the generic "jabba_thief" template, his appearance was randomized under one of two possible depictions. He could either appear as a male Zabrak or as a Human female. Because the quest dialogue identified Vos as male, this article assumes that the male Zabrak depiction is canon in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[2]

With the release of the "Publish 23" on August 31, 2005, Lady Valarian's Quest Series was deactivated and Cie Vos was consequently removed from the game.[4]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
