"There's this guy Untas... he owes me money. And he hasn't paid me yet."
―Bosshand Faeto, to a bounty hunter[2]

Untas was a Human male mercenary who lived on the planet Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"That so-called friend of mine just left me to fed for my self while he hides out. Protect him from the bounty hunter he said. Protect yourself I say."
Sleash, to a bounty hunter[2]

Untas was an elite Black Sun mercenary[3] who usually wore a Bounty Hunter Armor. After the Battle of Yavin, Untas resided in Mos Eisley. He was friend with Sleash and was acquainted with Oldksam and Taibela.[2]

In 1 ABY,[1] Untas was indebted to the crime boss Faeto. When Faeto placed a death mark on him, Untas, Oldksam and Sleash went into hiding. Untas joined the White Thranta Shipping Company,[2] a front for illegal activities of Jabba the Hutt's criminal organization.[4]

Nevertheless, Taibela stayed in Mos Eisley where she was questioned by a bounty hunter. The bounty hunter persuaded her to reveal where Oldksam was hiding and, after finding him, convinced Oldksam to reveal Sleash's location. The bounty hunter later questioned Sleash and gave him his favorite spice. The drug addict was upset that Untas went into hiding without him and therefore gave his former partner's location, the White Thranta Shipping offices outside Mos Eisley. The bounty hunter infiltrated the bunker and finally found Untas. After giving Faeto's death mark to Untas, the bounty hunter killed him.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Untas was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] Untas was added to the game as part of the "Legacy Quest" with the release of the "Publish 25", a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[6]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
