A fire node was a valuable luminous gem that had a ruby-red coloration. The luminescent properties of fire nodes were enhanced by exposure to intense light. Fire nodes were part of the advance payment Han Solo and Chewbacca received for running weapons to insurgents fighting against the Corporate Sector Authority on Duroon.
