The fire plant, which grew on the Mountain of Doom on Endor, was the only known cure for victims an ice-beetle. The Frost Giants who lived on the mountain avoided the area where the plants grew.

The Ewoks Wicket W. Warrick and Teebo once ventured to the Mountain of Doom to retrieve a plant. When the two Ewoks helped the Frost Giants kill a dragon-bird that was harassing their mountain, the Giants told the Ewoks of the fire plant's location.
