The New Republic First Battle Group, also known as the First Fleet or Home Fleet, was the first fleet commissioned by the New Republic Defense Fleet.
In 4 ABY, the First Fleet was placed under command of Admiral Firmus Nantz. It was the fitst fleet engaged in the liberation campaign agaisnt the Empire following the Battle of Endor.[1]
In the early years of the New Republic, the First Battle Group was assigned to the defense of Coruscant, until Chief of State Leia Organa Solo sent it out to relieve the Second Battle Group. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the First Battle Group was present at the Battle of Fondor, where half of it was destroyed. It later became the Galactic Alliance First Fleet.
