The First Battle of Alaris Prime was an isolated conflict between Wookiees and the Trade Federation, resulting in the expulsion of the Trade Federation and the colonization of the planet by the Wookiees.

[edit] Leading to the battle
Upon the discovery of Alaris Prime, the Wookiees of Kashyyyk sought and earned approval to colonize the moon through the negotiating skill of Attichitcuk.
Some time before the arrival of the Wookiees however, a droid army under the leadership of Nute Gunray settled on the forest moon to begin stripping its resources and establish a base in the strategically located system, struggling against the moon's native Gundarks. Unaware of the Trade Federation's presence, the Wookiee transport Thalmussen brought the first Wookiee colonists to Alaris Prime under the leadership of Attichitcuk, his son Chewbacca, and their friend Shoran.

With the aid of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, the Wookiees learned the skills required for establishing a colony and rapidly developed their colony's defenses and manufacturing capabilities against the Gundarks and the newly discovered Trade Federation settlements, who were found destroying the Gundark nest before them.
Attichitcuk moved to investigate the Federation installations but was gravely injured by droids as he was returning to the Wookiee colony. Chewbacca arrived and carried his father to the base.
The establishment of a secondary Jedi Temple and the arrival of Obi-Wan, allowed for the acquisition of a Holocron found in the jungle; and with the cooperation of Shoran they managed to destroy an array of sensors built by the Federation.
The construction of a fortress solidified the Wookiees' rightful claim to the world and with the help of Qui-Gon, a strengthened force of the Wookiees moved against the Fortress of the Trade Federation. The Wookiees successfully destroyed the fortress, forcing the Federation to stop its attempts at colonizing the planet. The usurpers left the planet to focus on their plans for Naboo, but their allied Trandoshans promised to return.
