The First Battle of Ketaris was one of the last battles in the Thrawn campaign.

Grand Admiral Thrawn launched the campaign of Ketaris a week before his death. Admiral Ackbar was still on an inspection tour of the planet's wreckage when the Chiss commander struck the Galactic capital. The New Republic forces resisted and were initially successful in defending the system. Eventually, with a renewed attack, the Imperial forces under Thrawn were victorious.
