The First Battle of Mylok IV was the first battle fought in the Conflict at Mylok IV during the Galactic Civil War at Mylok IV.

PreludeEdit

Following the Battle of Hoth, Admiral Zaarin had been entrusted to Imperial starfighter development by Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader, but his Scientists had not found a hyperdrive engine small and reliable enough to be fit into a TIE Starfighter without the risk of reduced performance.

Scientists working for the Habeen and the Nharwaak had made a breakthrough, designing a suitable unit for use in the TIE Advanced, but their world, Mylok IV, was located in the Outer Rim Territories and was not a part of the Galactic Empire. Nevertheless, Zaarin sought a demonstration of the unit, and traveled to the system in his frigate, the Shamus. Zaarin managed to negotiate a deal with the Habeen and arranged the a convoy consisting two groups of 4 Cargo ferries, Verack and Stimner. However, the Habeen admitted that the Nharwaark had been more interested in doing business with the Rebellion. This resulted in an attack on the Habeen convoy.

BattleEdit

At the start of the skirmish, as soon as the Habeen Cargo ferries arrived and had their cargo verified by Maarek Stele, by request of the Secret Order of the Empire, Nharwaak raiders consisting of Y-wing squadrons and two CR90 corvettes called Charger 1 and 2. Y-wing Squadrons Red and Gold attacked the TIE Fighters, when they were destroyed, Two more squadrons consisting of Yellow and Blue Squadrons arrived, their flight leaders started to attack the cargo ferries while the wingmen attempted to destract the TIE Fighters, but both were unsuccessful in destroying any of the cargo ferries. soon all Y-wings from Blue and Yellow were destroyed, including their replacement waves. Soon the Shamus arrived, and launched TIE Bombers and TIE Interceptors to help the TIE Squadrons. When most of the Y-wings were destroyed, all of the TIE Fighters attacked both corvettes, and the corvettes were destroyed as well. In a last ditch effort, Striker Squadron attacked the Cargo ferries with the same tactic as the flight leader attacking the Ferries while the wingmen distract the fighters. They too were destroyed in the end and then Scarlet Squadron arrived to attack the fighters and were all destroyed as well. After all raiders were destroyed both Cargo ferries then delivered their cargo to Shamus and then entered Hyperspace.

AftermathEdit

With the Hyperdrive technology prototypes in Zaarin's hands his scientists began examining the models and found them very promising. However the issue of the Nharwaak and their intentions can no longer be ignored.

Behind the scenesEdit

This is Battle 4 mission 1.

The only Bonus objective in this mission is to inspect both corvettes.

This is the storyline of the mission following "medium" difficulty. If the player tries "hard" diffculty then the Charger corvettes launch Z-95 Headhunters from Red and Gold to attack the starfighters and will continue to launch them until destroyed.
