A battle at the planet Ord Mantell occurred between the New Republic and the remnants of the Galactic Empire in the months following the death of Warlord Zsinj at Dathomir in 8 ABY. As different Imperial factions raced to claim Zsinj's territory, Admiral Gial Ackbar sent a task force into Imperial Space against the planet Ord Mantell. The strike was successful in bringing the world under New Republic control, and the task force moved onto capture Agamar.[1]
