The first Corellian Treaty was an agreement that defined boundaries for the legitimate exploration and colonization of space, as well as the establishment of trade routes during the early years of the Galactic Republic. Because the Republic conducted most of its earliest exploration efforts within the treaty's area of effect, which came to be known as the Slice, the first Corellian Treaty indirectly established the Republic's early borders.
