[edit] Characteristics
Fleet Junkies have a diverse range of interests, ranging from capital ship sizes, classification of various warship classes, and fleet battles. Unlike some more uniformed groups, like the self-titled Fandalorians, Fleet Junkies displayed various viewpoints and opinions. The minimalist and maximalist viewpoint was common among the Fleet Junkies, with both sides arguing the strengths and weaknesses of the others side.
[edit] Logo
Billy Buehler, a moderator of the Jedi Council Forums known as The2ndQuest, created the logo for the organization. He also provided the group with its unofficial motto and battle cry- "Fleet Junkies- Ho!" [source?]
[edit] Regular issues of Fleet Junkies
The issues addressed by fans of this class are varied, though several issues have repeatedly been discussed and debated amongst Fleet Junkies. They include but were not limited to the following:
- Warship size
- Warship classification
- Fleet compositions and size
- Lack of pictures of warships from the Expanded Universe
- The merits/demerits of various fleet commanders
- Roleplaying stats of various starfighters and capital ships
- Minimalistic/Maximalistic view of the galaxy
- Expanded Universe capital ships without stats
[edit] Commonality
Despite these differences, Fleet Junkies of every persuasion were united in their common interest to document the various starships of the Star Wars galaxy. The lack of good visuals for many of the ships invented for the Expanded Universe was a commonly held complaint of Fleet Junkies, as well as authors constantly using of more common ships from the movies over newer ships [source?]. Their debate continues in numerous forums, including the Jedi Council Forum on TheForce.net.
