The floonorp was type of musical wind instrument.[1] They consisted of a cyclndrical body with a tube mouthpiece extending along and then above one side.[2] In the year 32 BBY,[3] one member[2] of a Bith[1] band playing in the stands of the Mos Espa Grand Arena on the planet Tatooine used a metal floonorp during the Boonta Eve Classic podrace.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

A floonorp first appeared as a prop in the film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace,[2] which was released on May 19, 1999.[4] The prop was not named in the film,[2] but received identification in the Star Wars Legends reference book Star Wars: Episode I The Visual Dictionary, which was written by David West Reynolds[5] and released on May 26, 1999. The name was then confirmed to be canon by the reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, which was written by Adam Bray, Tricia Barr and Cole Horton[1] and released on April 4, 2017.[6]
