Force cloak, also known as Force camouflage and Force concealment, was, unsurprisingly, a rarely seen Force talent that could be achieved by two different methods.

DescriptionEdit

Some Force users with this rare ability could use the Force to photo-kinetically bend light and sound waves around themselves, rendering them invisible to others, both visually and through Force.^[1] Since it physically bent light like a cloaking device, this power could be used to hide from beings such as droids and the Yuuzhan Vong, beings normally immune to Force-based illusions.^[source?] It demanded a great deal of concentration in order to maintain and consumed much more energy than other Force techniques.^[1]

An alternative form of the Force cloak ability, referred to as Force Haze or simply Vanish as used by Celeste Morne and the Agents of Ossus^[2]^[3], hid the user by affecting the minds of those around them in a way similar to the Jedi mind trick or Force persuasion. The user could remove all traces of their presence from the mind of observers and move completely unnoticed while in plain sight. Because this variant of the Force cloak ability relied on the user's power to affect the mind of the observer, it was ineffective against droids or larger groups of observers/opponents.

Juhani seemed to have a natural talent for this skill, though she much preferred to stand against an enemy than hide from them. It was also a favored technique of Kreia, who saw perception as but another tool for manipulation. By controlling the perception of others, and by concealing her presence, she would sometimes hide among friend and foe alike. Jedi Master Tholme was said to have been a master of Force cloak; however, this is based on the accounts of Aayla Secura, who claimed to have been taught this ability by her former master, Quinlan Vos, who in turn was taught by Tholme. Anakin Skywalker was also adept at this ability, and may have used it a number of times during his mission to destroy the cortosis droid factory on Metalorn. Maris Brood used this technique in conjunction with Force speed during her duel with Galen Marek, although she was still defeated. The former Nightsister Lomi Plo utilized a unique form of the power during the Dark Nest Crisis, using other's doubts and fears to mask herself from view.
