The result of the debate was add masters and apprentices fields to Jedi character infoboxes—Green Tentacle(Talk) 15:17, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
It recently struck me that it might be useful to add fields to the Jedi, Dark Jedi, and Sith infobox templates for masters and apprentices. Unlike the silly lightsaber color field proposal, this would add information which might be useful to see upon first glance, just as much as homeworld, species, eye color, or political allegiance. What do you think? While I'm sure there might be worries about the susceptibility of these fields to fanon, it would really be no more so than the affiliation field or homeworld field -- apprenticeships are generally official and easily verifiable, while unofficial apprenticeships can be noted as such and disputes over something minor (like, say, Dev Sibwarra counting as an apprentice to Luke or not) can be hashed out on talk pages, and those are very rare cases.
How the heck will this work for Jedi like Yoda? QuentinGeorge 00:35, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
For groups like the Bear Clan, just put down Bear Clan. And for individual apprenticeships, put down the name. Having a bunch of characters there won't hurt. Hell, have you seen how many things are in certain characters Affiliations and Eras? --RedemptionTalk 00:43, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
With our magical collapsing infoboxes, this is an issue that almost doesn't require discussion. I add fields to the starship infobox all the time and update the related vehicle boxes accordingly. -- Darth Culator(Talk) 00:56, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
So you're the one who's been putting all that esoteric stuff in there. ;) Gonk(Gonk!) 00:43, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
