The following is a proposition that I present for voting:
As long as this policy is in effect:
The Wookieepedia will not merge with or into any Walt Disney Wiki.
The Wookieepedia will not contain any Walt Disney related material, except when it specifically and or directly relates to, and or has concern with Star Wars; whether in-universe or out-of-universe; whether canon or non-canon.
This restricts Walt Disney related content on/in not only articles but also:
The Wookieepedia will not host discussions on any Walt Disney related topics and or products, except when it specifically and or directly relates to, and or has concern with Star Wars; whether in-universe or out-of-universe; whether canon or non-canon.
As nominator....Although I highly, highly, highly doubt that we will ever have to worry about the first point, you just never know what the future holds ("Difficult to see, the future is" -Yoda). So this is a simple protection against any future wave of Wookieepedians wanting to merge with a Disney Wiki. However, the other points are more necessary, I think. If someone asks some dumb question about Disney on here, instead of just deleting their comment and saying, "This is the Star Wars Wiki. That crap doesn't belong here." You would now actually have grounds on which to delete their Disney question, article, comment, etc. Fe Nite (talk) 19:19, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
We already have grounds. It's policy for talk pages to only be used for discussing improvements to the article. MasterFred(Whatever) 22:50, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
This just seems pointless to me as it is already policy to not use Wookieepedia as a forum to discuss anything other than improving this site. Also because we are not "The Wookieepedia." MasterFred(Whatever) 22:52, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
No offense intended, but this sounds like a joke. People seem to suddenly have a bizarre paranoia that makes them think Disney and Star Wars are now just one entity and we're going to see mickey mouse running around with Luke Skywalker. This is just completely unnessecary. Commander Code-8G'day, mate 23:41, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
Unnecessary and redundant with existing policies and practices. Any proposal to merge this Wiki or change its SW-centric procedures would require the same high consensus threshold as it would take to rescind this policy in the first place. Just trust that, as Star Wars fans, we'll keep this site's mission in mind. And should two-thirds of our users ever vote to change that ... well, they must have a really good reason that we cannot fathom at this time. jSarek (talk) 23:54, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
I think CC-8 and jSarek pretty much summed it up. Even if I do have terrible worries for the future of Star Wars, the proposed policy aims at a very implausible scenario. As long as we all remember what we are here for, everything's gonna be fine. --LelalMekha (talk) 00:01, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
Per Fred and jSarek. I trust the users and administrators of this wiki would keep our content restricted to the Star Wars universe, unless as noted there is a direct reference outside of it that involves this universe. -- Riffsyphon1024 00:32, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
While I kind of like the idea of blowing away idiots with one big nuclear rule, I think we do just fine smashing them with our existing arsenal of conventional rules. -- Darth Culator(Talk) 07:11, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
Per Culator. I don't like Disney, to be perfectly honest. So, I would be happy with keeping Disney off the site, but we already have rules preventing non-SW stuff from happening. If it does become more of a problem, we can always revisit this later, if it's really necessary.—Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 15:26, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
