The result of the debate was to arrange quotes on quote pages by chronological appearance, disregarding the differences between movies and EU; no distinction should be made either between quotes by the character and quotes about the character. Graestan(Talk) 23:49, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
After recently working on some of our WookieeQuote pages I discovered that there aren't really any policies or guidelines on those pages as far as I know. It seems to be generally accepted that they are to be organized by source and in chronological order but for things beyond that there isn't much consistency.
So I suggest some policies or guidelines be decided to help clean up these pages. Feel free to add other subjects and issues to this page (as well as different options); as this is just a few of my ideas from what I've noticed, and I'm sure there's other sutff that I missed. Movies vs. Expanded Universe
It seems to be agreed that articles are to be ordered chronologically, however, some articles have quotes from the movies first, then followed by all the Expanded Universe quotes. (such as Quote:Han Solo) Others have movie and Expanded Universe quotes mixed together in chronological order. (such as Quote:Boba Fett)
Option 1 would be having all pages organized like the Quote:Han Solo page.
Option 2 would be having all pages organized like the Quote:Boba Fett page.

- Goodness, I see the advantages of both. For a character like Leia, just the movie lines tell an amazing story on their own. But, in keeping with the precedent set by the rest of the wiki's organization, a distinction between movie and EU canon should not be made in the in-universe articles. - Agreed, except they should be in chronological order, and Fett's quotes aren't. Mauser 20:46, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Quotes by vs. Quotes about
Another inconsistency I've noticed is whether or not to separate quotes said by the character and quotes said about the character. Some pages, such as Quote:Lando Calrissian, have a separate section at the end of the page for "Quotes said about Lando Calrissian." Other articles, such as Quote:Luke Skywalker, have quotes said about the character along side quotes said by the character under the appropriate source.
Option 1 would be to have a separate section for quotes said about a character, as done on the Quote:Lando Calrissian page.
Option 2 would be to not separate quote said about and character and quotes by a character, as done on the Quote:Luke Skywalker page.

- It's absolutely nonsensical to split quotes up by speaker. Just put them in order. They have a freaking attribution at the bottom; it's not like we're clearing anything up for anybody. I'm baffled that anyone would want to do this. Havac 05:02, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
