Alright, so yesterday BioWare officially announced Update 1.3: Allies. In the promotional video, they also revealed that Character Transfers are going to be released in this update, meaning that we will soon be able to move the guilds. That means it'll be happening soon, and we need to decide on our new home. They're probably be releasing more info soon, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 18:21, May 23, 2012 (UTC)

The video is here.

  • Is there an official date yet? ~SavageBOB sig 14:50, May 24, 2012 (UTC)
    • Unfortunately, no. But I thing they typically announce the Updates a month or so in advance. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 14:54, May 24, 2012 (UTC)
      • So let's get down to brass tax; what's our new server? Last time we spoke, both Jedi Covenant and The Harbinger sounded good. I'm a little preferential to The Harbinger, but we should do another test to check the population levels once more. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 18:16, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
        • I'll try to log on tonight and do a few more spot tests. Others please do the same at other times during the next few days; I'm getting busier by the day as I make summer plans! ~SavageBOB sig 18:50, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
      • I don't know who did what or what happened but the guild ranks have been changed. Not that it's a big deal, but it prevents me from taking care of things on the imperial side when I need to. I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it here; it is the most practical and makes the most sense for me to be the imperial gm, since I'm always on, and no one else is ever on the imperial side, for whatever reason. As I have said before, this isn't some sort of silly power grab, it is just the smartest thing to do given the current circumstances. I've needed to take care of things since we started the guilds but can't because I don't have the appropriate clearance. Changing me to gm will eliminate all of that, and I don't want to have to keep waiting for someone to maybe get on. Let's take care of this ASAP please, thanks.—Tommy 9281 Saturday, May 26, 2012, 21:12 UTC
        • Aren't you the GM already? I'm not sure who is if you're not. I'm GM on the Republic side, but I need to relinquish that position since I probably won't have much access this summer. Cade's on a lot on that side, and he might be the best person for the Republic post. ~SavageBOB sig 22:58, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
        • I believe it's DLT, the rest of us are just recruits, I'd thought we were officers. But essentially we four are all gm, it can just be slapped on one toon at a time I believe.—Tommy 9281 Saturday, May 26, 2012, 23:30 UTC
          • Yes, Yektair is the GM on the Imp side. I have no problem with you taking over if everyone else is OK with it. Also, Cade, what do you think of heading the Republic side? Finally, I've updated the Forum:Random server test with numbers from tonight, about 7:30 PM EST. I'd be happy to switch to either Jedi Covenant or The Harbinger. If others prefer Harbinger, let's do it as soon as it becomes an option! ~SavageBOB sig 23:57, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
            • I would have no problem with that. Currently, however, I'm on the Defenestrator server (it's realllly small), working quest-by-quest on a new Jedi Knight character for my project. I'm still on Tython at the moment, but I might pop back onto Calrayn on Wall of Light for some play-through. And looking at your numbers, I'd say if we had to choose today (and there weren't any server transfers), we should definitely go with the Jedi Covenant. However, I think we should wait until the transfers actually come out before we start choosing a server.... the populations might change radically. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 02:50, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
          • Ok so DLT, I'll need you to get on ASAP (preferably like when you read this) and make the necessary changes please. It only takes a matter of seconds, so you don't have to stay on long if you have other obligations. Thanks,—Tommy 9281 Sunday, May 27, 2012, 13:54 UTC
            • Tommy, I've told you I will as soon as possible, and so I will. Believe it or not I have other obligations and am not able to hop on a video game at your whim. When I get on, I'll let you know, but as I've told you, my ability to run home and log on during normal hours is pretty much shot until the end of the week. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 21:03, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
  • But to get back to the point of this forum, I agree with Cade above. Once the update is released, population levels will shift heavily. Most likely, the servers that are already heavily populated will become more heavily populated, so either The Harbinger or Jedi Covenant are probably going to be fine, but it's better to be on the safe side. We should get an idea of where we would like to move, but wait until about a week after the update to actually make the transfers. That way we can check the population levels again after people have started moving. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 21:23, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
    • I agree. About a week after transfers are available will give us a better idea. Drooga's Pleasure Barge is another server that has a consistently good level of participation, and another one to be checked at that time. ~SavageBOB sig 22:13, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
    • What time zones are these servers? Also, I'd like to put up a sitenotice soon to alert everyone of what's going on. Let's brainstorm on what the message should say.—Tommy 9281 Sunday, May 27, 2012, 22:18 UTC
      • They're both PvE; Harbinger is west coast, Jedi Covenant is east. As for the cite notice, it should include that the guild exists and has a new server, but it probably shouldn't go up until the move has been made, so as not to confuse or misdirect possible new recruits. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:02, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
        • Drooga is PVE as well. I agree; the announcement should be something akin to, "Come join the Wookieepedia Alliance (Republic) and Wookieepedia Cabal (Empire) on Star Wars: The Old Republic! Details can be found here." By the way, this site has statistics for all the servers and may also be of help in choosing a new home. ~SavageBOB sig 23:37, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
  • Check it out. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 20:32, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
    • Hmm. That's good news and bad news. On the plus side, this is finally going to happen, and soon. On the negative side, we're still SOL if some of the servers we have other high-level characters on are not eligible to move to the same server as the rest o the guild. I've got my main and two other middle-level characters on Kathol Rift, for instance, so unless it can move to the same place as Wall of Light, I'm in the same damn situation as now. :/ ~SavageBOB sig 21:07, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
    • But here's a thought: Wall of Light will likely be targeted to move somewhere else. It may not be the same target server as that of other servers we may have characters on, but I can't imagine WoL not being one of those allowed to move. Alternatively, Wall of Light may be the target server for other low-pop servers, I guess. Either way, what is our plan when transfers become available? In my mind, we should move to wherever they'll let us. If there is only one target for WoL, let's go there. If there are multiple targets, let's analyze them after about a week and then decide. If WoL is instead a target server for other low-pops to move to, I vote we stick it out and see how successful the process is and how the pop gets for WoL. Does that sound reasonable? ~SavageBOB sig 22:55, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
      • Yes.—Tommy 9281 Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 23:05 UTC
        • At the moment, my primary focus is on a Jedi Knight named Cade on The Defenestrator server. I'm using him for my Project Hero thing, and I'm currently at level 14 and almost finished with Coruscant. However, this server has at most 3 or 4 people on a world at a time, so it'll probably be open to transfers too. But I'm open to whatever we do. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 23:15, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
  • Tuesday, June 12 is the day! See this. ~SavageBOB sig 15:10, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
  • Today's the day! We're not listed yet, but we may be. Note that should Wall of Light be listed as an origin server to move somewhere else, we will have to reform the guilds on our destination server once everyone is moved. Also note that our current guildmasters will have to demote themselves or abolish the guild or whatever in order to transfer. There's a good FAQ on how the service works here: [1] Other important notes: your mailbox and GTN listings will not transfer, so take them out and get any goodies before you move (if we get selected to move that is). Crossing fingers that we can consolidate our characters and get this rolling soon! ~SavageBOB sig 12:10, June 12, 2012 (UTC)
  • My main and two alts on Kathol Rift seem to be headed to the Canderous Ordo server. Still no word on Wall of Light, but I presume as a West Coast server, it will have a West Coast destination. Damn. Awaiting paid transfers then to reunite all my characters. But stay tuned for info on where WoL will end up. ~SavageBOB sig 18:27, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
  • Server transfer has arrived for the Wall of Light server! Bioware has selected our destination for us: The Harbinger. To move your characters, log in to your account on the official swtor.com website, go to "My account" and you should see the option for character transfers. The process is incredibly quick (took about 5 minutes in my case), and The Harbinger seems to have a vibrant community that should serve us well. See you on The Harbinger! ~SavageBOB sig 21:39, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
    • Great stuff. Are we all available tonight to reform the guilds? Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 22:45, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
      • I can. If others can't get on tonight, then tomorrow night works as well. ~SavageBOB sig 23:16, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
        • Same here. I've made my transfers, so I'm ready when y'all are. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:18, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
        • Ill do it tonight, we can reform tomorrow if that's cool.—Tommy 9281 Wednesday, June 13, 2012, 23:19 UTC
  • How's 6:00 PST tonight? Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 17:16, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
    • Works for me. Empire then Republic? ~SavageBOB sig 17:59, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
      • 6:00 PST = 8:00 CST, right? I hate time zones. If so, then yes. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 18:17, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
        • Bob: Sounds good. Cade: Yup. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 18:26, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
        • Logged in at 8:15 EST, Didnt see anyone. What's good?—Tommy 9281 Friday, June 15, 2012, 00:19 UTC
          • That's EST, Tommy. We're going to reform in 40 minutes. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 00:20, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
  • When you log on, send a /whisper to Yektair so I know which characters you're on. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 00:55, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
